LAURA ANGÉLICA MENDOZA RAMOS

I was born in Tepic Nayarit, I have been living in Sayulita for 15 years, I like to go to the beach, I have 3 children who I love with all my heart and I consider that family is the most important thing we have because we always seek their well-being and happiness, it is That is why the love for teaching was born in me when I saw the beautiful work that a teacher does in the classroom, because it is not only teaching but also providing affection, giving the tools to the students who develop in such a changing society. 

One of my functions within this educational institution is as a teacher of Preschool Education 1 and 2 and the other is as the person in charge of School Control, which is why my educational training is as a Bachelor of Preschool Education which I carry out at the Juana de Asbaje School in the city of Puerto Vallarta, and a master's degree in Management of Educational Processes that I studied in Tepic Nayarit, at the Center for Educational Innovation in Nayarit.

Nací en Tepic Nayarit, tengo 15 años viviendo en Sayulita, me gusta ir a la playa, leer, nadar, tengo 3 hijos a los que amo con todo mi corazón y considero que la familia es lo más importante que tenemos porque siempre buscamos su bienestar y felicidad, es por ello que nació en mí el amor por la docencia al ver la hermosa labor que realiza una maestra en el aula, porque no solo es enseñar sino brindar cariño, dar las herramientas a los estudiantes que se desenvuelven en una sociedad tan cambiante. 

Una de mis funciones dentro de está institución Educativa es como docente de Educación Preescolar 1 y 2 y la otra es como encargada de Control Escolar es por ello que mi formación educativa es como Licenciada en Educación Preescolar la cual realice en el Colegio Juana de Asbaje en la ciudad de Puerto Vallarta, y una maestría en Gestión de Procesos Educativos que estudié en Tepic Nayarit, en el Centro de Innovación Educativa de Nayarit. 

Miss Lina Montserrat Perez Ponce

Originally from Puerto Vallarta, Jal, where I grew up and finished my studies until high school at the American School. Passionate about life and my work. After two trial and error careers, which I have to admit that I did not manage to finish, I discovered that what I was passionate about was being able to be part of the formation of growing little lives and it was so then that I changed residence and went to study. to Guadalajara in UNICO, graduating as a teacher of Initial Education.

 During the time I studied, I had the opportunity to work and do my internship at the same time in places like Gymboree and CENDI (Center for Infant Development), becoming more and more convinced that it was my vocation. I returned to Vallarta where I continued to work learning, taking on new challenges and pushing myself to want to be able to give more of myself and improve by growing professionally as well as personally. Currently I work at CVIS which for me is a joy and it fills me with happiness to have had the opportunity to meet and know that iyou can find what can be assembled as a little puzzle in your life at a professional level that will fill you so much. I enjoy the weather, the air, the water I love being able to be a world trot from time to time and I could say that I am like transparent water, very sensitive, changeable, I am very emotional and I think the only thing I am still learning is to flow more like the same.

Originaria de Puerto Vallarta,Jal, en donde me crié y terminé mis estudios hasta la prepa en el Colegio Americano. Apasionada por la vida  y por mi trabajo. Después de  dos carreras a prueba y error , que tengo que admitir que no logre terminar descubrí que lo que me apasionaba era  el poder ser parte de la formación de las vidas pequeñitas en crecimiento y fue asi que entonces cambie  de residencia y me fuí a estudiar a Guadalajara en UNICO, graduando como maestra de Educacion Inicial.

 Durante el tiempo que estudie tuve la oportunidad de trabajar y hacer mis prácticas al mismo tiempo en lugares como Gymboree  y el CENDI(Centro de Desarrollo Infanti) quedando cada dia mas convencida que era mi vocación. Regrese a Vallarta en donde segui ejerciendo aprendiendo, tomando nuevos retos y empujándome a querer poder dar mas de mi misma y mejorar creciendo en el aspecto profesional al igual que personal. Actualmente trabajo en CVIS lo cual para mi es una dicha y me llena de felicidad haber tenido la oportunidad de conocer y saber que si se puede encontrar aquello que pueda ensamblar como una piecesita de rompecabezas en tu vida a nivel profesional que tanto te llene. Disfruto el tiempo , el aire, el agua me encanta poder ser una trota mundos de vez en cuando y podría decir que soy como el agua trasparente, muy sensible ,cambiante , soy muy emocional y creo que lo único que aun sigo aprendiendo es a fluir mas como la misma.

Marijose Ramos Lozano
1st and 2nd grade SPANISH

Marijose Ramos Lozano initially started at CVIS in 2016/17 as a substitute teacher. She was immediately identified as a caring and skilled educator. Coming from the local community, Marijose has a strong understanding of the specific and special culture of Sayulita. She brings this multicultural and multilingual understanding to the classroom. Marijose received teacher training and licensure from Vizcaya University in Puerto Vallarta.As well as a Diploma in Educational Innovation and a Master's Degree in Didactic Training

Marijose Ramos Lozano comenzó inicialmente en CVIS en 2016/17 como maestra sustituta. Fue inmediatamente identificada como un educador educado y atento. Viniendo de la comunidad local, Marijose tiene una fuerte comprensión de la cultura específica y especial de Sayulita. Transfiere esta comprensión multicultural y multilingüe al aula. Marijose recibió instrucción docente y licenciatura de la Universidad de Vizcaya en Puerto Vallarta. Así como un Diplomado en Innovación Educativa y Maestría en Formación Didáctica.

Marie LAUBE
1st and 2nd grade English

Marie joins the CVIS community with passion and excitement for education in a bilingual setting. Originally from San Diego, Marie graduated from university with a degree in Psychology and Spanish. She also received her Master´s in Literacy in Urban Education. As a bilingual classroom teacher in San Francisco, Marie was inspired by her students ́ multicultural knowledge and passion for learning. She is excited to continue teaching in a multicultural environment that encourages academic growth.

Marie viene a la comunidad de CVIS con pasión y emoción por la educación en un ambiente bilingüe. Originaria de San Diego, Marie se graduó de la universidad con un título en psicología y literatura española. También recibió su Maestría en Alfabetización en Educación Urbana. Como maestra de clase bilingüe en San Francisco, Marie se inspiró en el conocimiento multicultural y pasión por el aprendizaje de sus alumnos. Está emocionada de continuar enseñando en un ambiente multicultural que fomenta el crecimiento académico.

KARLA MALEY
3rd and 4th GRADE SPANISH

Mi nombre es Karla Maley nací en Celaya, Guanajuato. Estudié en el Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Occidente (ITESO) en Guadalajara, ahí fue donde comenzó mi interés por trabajar en este ámbito, he tenido la oportunidad de trabajar con niños en distintas partes del mundo, esta interacción con diferentes culturas ha hecho que tenga una forma distinta de ver la educación y cómo es el aprendizaje de cada ser. Tuve la oportunidad de impartir clases a alumnos en China. Me gusta crear un ambiente de confianza en donde se sientan comprendidos, seguros y puedan expresarse y ser tal cual son.   

My name is Karla Maley I was born in Celaya, Guanajuato. I studied at the Western Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESO) in Guadalajara, that is where my interest in working in this area began, I had the opportunity to work with children in different parts of the world, this interaction with different cultures has made a huge impact on me by seeing the different ways of education and how is the learning of each being. I had the opportunity to teach students in China. I like to create an environment of trust where they feel understood, safe and can express themselves and be as they are.

Richard Rosales
3rd and 4th Grade English

Ricardo Rosales (Mr. Richard) began his career in Business Administration at Blue Ridge Community College in Virginia and continued with Finance at Ashworth University. Now he is currently taking a Pedagogy degree and is certified with the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages.

Once he came to Mexico he found a new passion in teaching. He has worked in several prestigious schools like Ker Liber, CET, Iteso and the Canadian School Salzmann. This year he is honored to be back with CVIS for the fourth year. Within his teaching career, he has obtained a number of teaching certificates. Most recent certificate has been from the University of Virginia. 

Richard has also taken some fitness and basketball coaching courses obtaining certificates. He is currently in charge of the CVIS Basketball Program, and he is part of the Nayarit coaching staff for out-of-state youth competitions.

His hobbies are playing basketball and chess, reading and writing.

Ricardo Rosales (Mr. Richard) Inició sus estudios de Administración de Negocios en Blue Ridge Community College en el estado de Virginia, después continuó con Finanzas en Ashworth University. Actualmente se encuentra cursando una licenciatura en Pedagogía y es certificado por el American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages. 

Una vez que llegó a México, encontró una nueva pasión en la enseñanza. Ha trabajado en varias escuelas de prestigio como Ker Liber, CET, Iteso y la escuela Canadiense Salzmann. Este año se siente honrado de estar de regreso con CVIS por cuarto año consecutivo. Dentro de su carrera docente ha obtenido varios certificados como maestro de Ingles. El certificado más reciente ha sido de la Universidad de Virginia. 

Richard también ha tomado algunos cursos de entrenamiento/coaching de baloncesto y fitness, así obteniendo certificados. Actualmente está a cargo del programa de Basquetball en CVIS y es parte del cuerpo técnico de Nayarit para competencias juveniles fuera del estado.

Sus pasatiempos son jugar baloncesto y ajedrez, leer y escribir.

Ana Lucía Ceballos Castro
5th and 6th grade spanish

Originally from San Miguel de Allende, she studied a degree in Educational Sciences, studied a diploma in educational and neurodidactic innovation, created a program called Genialidades where she took summer courses to improve fine and gross motor skills in children. His strategies with children include activities with emotional intelligence, critical thinking and values.

Lucy enjoys being with her family, learning about Mexican history, reading, and walking on the beach.

Originaria de San Miguel de Allende, estudió la licenciatura en Ciencias de la educación, estudió diplomado en innovación educativa y neurodidáctica, creó un un programa llamado Genialidades en donde realizó cursos de Verano para mejorar la motricidad fina y gruesa en los niños. Entre sus estrategias con los niños incluye actividades con inteligencia emocional, pensamiento crítico  y valores.

Lucy disfruta de estar con su familia, aprender de la historia de México, leer, y caminar por la playa.

Grace Treleven
5th and 6th Grade English

Grace came to Sayulita from Tacoma, Washington. For college, Grace attended the University of Colorado in Boulder where she studied Spanish Language and Literature as well as Elementary Education. 

She has worked in a variety of educational settings, including homeschooling and teaching third grade in a public school Tacoma. She has always worked in Dual Language/Bilingual environments and loves continuing that work at Costa Verde. Grace loves working with students to create a classroom community filled with discussion, expression, and positive interaction. 

Grace loves to read, surf, and walk on the beach and in the jungle. You will probably run into her on the beach!

Grace vino a Sayulita de Tacoma, Washington. Para la universidad, Grace asistió a la Universidad de Colorado, Boulder donde estudió el idioma y la literatura española y también la educación primaria. 

Ella ha trabajado en diferentes sitios de educación. Siempre ha trabajado en sitios bilingües y está muy emocionada de seguir con este trabajo en Costa Verde. A Grace le encanta trabajar con los estudiantes para crear un ambiente lleno de discusión, expresión, e interacciones positivas.

A Grace le encanta leer, surfear, y caminar por la playa y la jungla. ¡Es muy probable que la verás en la playa!

Aanya Sheikh-Taheri

Aanya Sheikh-Taheri comes from Bellingham, Washington where she lived for the past twelve years before moving to Sayulita. Aanya first fell in love with culture and travel at an early age when she visited Iran, the homeland of her father and grandparents. Since then, Aanya has always had an intense connection to exploring the world and learning about diverse cultures, languages, and people. She has connected to many wonderful places all over the world, but ultimately her love for the ocean, the outdoors, sunshine, and the vibrant, open-hearted culture in Sayulita are what attracted her most in wanting to be here more than anywhere else. 

Aanya graduated from Western Washington University with her Bachelors degree in English/Literature and a Masters degree in Teaching for Secondary Education. She has taught high school English for the last seven years, and has taught a variety of grade levels and classes such as reading, intermediate writing, honors English, and poetry. Her creative passion throughout her career has been in advising the poetry club and organizing and putting on an annual school-wide poetry slam. Aanya enjoys writing alongside her students, and it has been a goal of hers to give young people the opportunity to have a voice and a safe and exploratory outlet to creatively express themselves. 

In her free time Aanya likes to hang out with her dog Kona, paint, dance, play soccer, and be in the water or exploring the outdoors. Her favorite kind of flower has always been a sunset, so she is very much looking forward to all the flowers she will get to see while here in Sayulita.  

Phillip morgan
SecUndaria history and global citizenship

Phillip Morgan is foremost a loving husband and father who greatly enjoys spending time with his family. He’s also a dedicated teacher with seven year’s experience. He taught English at Immaculata Catholic School in Asheville, North Carolina, AP US History at Veritas Classical Academy, and also served as a mentor to migrant farm workers. In his downtime he enjoys long-distance swimming, mountain biking, house projects, music, and reading. He’s honored to be a part of the CVIS family. 

Phillip Morgan es ante todo un esposo y padre cariñoso que disfruta mucho pasar tiempo con su familia. También es un maestro dedicado con siete años de experiencia. Enseñó inglés en la Escuela Católica Immaculata en Asheville, Carolina del Norte, Historia de EE. UU. AP en Veritas Classical Academy, y también sirvió como mentor de trabajadores agrícolas migrantes. En su tiempo libre, disfruta de la natación de larga distancia, el ciclismo de montaña, los proyectos de la casa, la música y la lectura. Se siente honrado de ser parte de la familia CVIS.

Maestra María Elena Oliver Comparán

Realicé mis estudios de Pedagogía en la Universidad Pedagógica Nacional de la CDMX y la maestría en Tecnologías para el aprendizaje en la UDG de Puerto Vallarta. He disfrutado mi trayectoria como maestra en CVIS por su enfoque ecológico y humanista. Me gusta compartir tiempo con mi familia, nadar, bailar, hacer obras de teatro, ver películas de aventuras y ciencia ficción. Leer sobre temas de arqueología, innovación y creatividad.

Durante este ciclo escolar 2021 - 2022 realizarán actividades de investigación, redacción, resolución de retos, juegos didácticos y convivencia con la finalidad de fomentar la creatividad y compartir conocimientos en equipo. Realizarán proyectos de manera transversal con otras materias.

Utilizaremos la plataforma de Classroom y KNOTION durante todo el ciclo escolar. Cada grado escolar tiene sus dificultades y retos, si por alguna circunstancia familiar o muy particular requieren apoyo en la realización de sus trabajos o tienen dudas, envíar un correo. Recuerda que no todos aprendemos de la misma manera, pero nos ayudaremos para lograrlo.

I did my Pedagogy studies at the National Pedagogical University of CDMX and the master's degree in Learning Technologies at the UDG of Puerto Vallarta. I have enjoyed my career as a teacher at CVIS for its ecological and humanistic approach. I like spending time with my family, swimming, dancing, making theater plays, watching adventure movies and science fiction. Read about archeology, innovation and creativity.

Vivo en Bucerias, Nayarit. Tengo 31 años de edad, soy técnica en recreaciones acuáticas, estudie la licenciatura en Biología Marina. Me encanta tener la facilidad de comunicación con las personas, me gusta participar en todo lo que conlleva la conservación del medio ambiente. Disfruto de pasar tiempo de calidad en familia o con las personas de mi entorno.

Anteriormente trabaje en otra institución dando clases de Matemáticas, Historia, Formación cívica y ética, en ocasiones apoyaba en la materia de Biología y Química.

Actualmente tengo la oportunidad de volver a trabajar en Costa Verde en este ciclo 2021-2022, trabajando con KNOTION con las materias de matemáticas 1,2 y 3, Biología y Física.

Considero muy importante que los alumnos expresen sus opiniones por lo cual me gusta fomentar la participación colectiva e individual; no solo respecto a las materias si no en el ámbito general de las clases.

I live in Bucerias, Nayarit. I am 31 years old, I am an aquatic recreation technician, I studied a degree in Marine Biology. I love having the ease of communication with people, I like to participate in everything that involves the conservation of the environment. I enjoy spending quality time with my family or with the people around me.

Previously, I worked in another institution giving classes in Mathematics, History, Civic Training and Ethics, sometimes I supported in the subject of Biology and Chemistry.

I currently have the opportunity to return to work at Costa Verde in this 2021-2022 cycle, working with KNOTION with the subjects of mathematics 1,2 and 3, Biology and Physics.

I consider it very important that students express their opinions, which is why I like to encourage collective and individual participation; not only regarding the subjects but also in the general scope of the classes.
