9th grade is doing a unit on self-care, focusing on the ways those of us lucky eough to have the time, can make choices to take care of our bodies, minds, and emotions. 8th grade repurposed cardboard boxes, styrofoam cups, plastic bottles and more to make their own inventions. Speaking of alternatives, 3d and 4th grades won our beach and river clean-up challenge. 3d grade had the highest percentage attendance and 4th grade had the highest attendance overall. They all won re-usable metal straws (and stram cleaners) and some cool stickers. Congratulations! We hope to have even more students and families out for the next clean-up. On Thursday 6th grade walked over to El Centro Comunitario for a music workshop combining electronic recording techniques with natural sounds (banging coconuts!) and their own voices to record their own original song! 5th grade will go to El Centro this week for another fun workshop. / El jueves 6 ° grado caminó a El Centro Comunitario para un taller de música que combina técnicas de grabación electrónica con sonidos naturales (golpeando cocos!)
